Some history:

The THE FREEWARE PUBLISHING SITE site was founded in 1997, the early years of the popularization of the internet. The FPS site was in those days one of the most popular free software providing websites around. Those were the days of many awards and references in magazines and over 20 mirrors all over the world with a daily update. There was also a Windows Forum affiliated to the site. We almost invented the webbased email service called "surfmail". But some years ago we had to stop our services and the sites were sleeping in some dark corners of the web. End 2005 we decided to start again, we restyled the lay-out, changed the database engine and blown the website again to live. And as you can see we are now back and kicking. We hope to stay on the internet and become again one of the best services for free software. With your help as a visitors to come back often and bookmark this site or put a link at your own website and for the publishers to send us their free ware again, we hope to get back on the stage were we belong. We hope to become again one of the best free ware hosting websites. For now on we must thanks all our visitors because in those few months we are back in business as we are getting high traffic again. Some days ago our 3000.000 visitor must have come by.
